What is st.maarten flag?

The St. Maarten flag consists of a light blue background with the national coat of arms in the center. The coat of arms includes a red shield with a white border and a sun in the center. The sun represents the Caribbean islands and their importance to St. Maarten's economy. The shield is divided into four equal parts, two of which depict the island's past French and Dutch influences. The other two quadrants show the salt ponds and the island's fishing industry. The flag was adopted in 1985 when St. Maarten was granted a special status within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
